The American version of dominoes, which is referred to as All-Fives or Muggins, is considered by many as one of the best domino games. It is considered a ‘points’ game. All-Fives rules are very similar with the dominoes rules in Draw Dominoes. However, the goal of here is to create the open ends of the game pattern.

Learning the Gameplay of All-Fives Dominoes Rules

The dominoes rule of All-Fives is quite simple and almost similar to Draw Dominoes. The first player will be decided through drawing of domino tiles. The player with the largest value shall go first.

The goal of the game All-fives is to create the open ends of the layout add up to 5 or a multiple of five (5, 10, 15, 20, and etc.). The first domino player to accumulate score will receive the same points. Don’t think the dominoes rules here are complicated. It is actually very easy.

The first domino player is allowed to play any domino value as his first move. It is not necessary to be a double. And if  he decides to play a double along the game,  it can be played on all 4 edges as according to the All-fives dominoes rules. This means that if the first player placed a domino of 5 -5 on the table, all sides of the double-five are available for play.

In the dominoes rules of All-fives game, each player adds a domino to an open end of the pattern. If one player was unable to move, he should get dominoes one at a time til that player finds a tile that is a playable domino. If there are no more dominoes, that player must pass his turn.

Strategy to Win over All-Fives Dominoes Rules

First, maintain a low board count. All dominoes rules value scores. This means the board count has an important role to winning. With a higher board count, you’ll have a higher point total. Therefore, you should try to reduce it and get rid of the doubles to have a lower total.

Another thing you have to remember in playing dominoes is to maintain the initiative to score points. Each time you score, it usually leaves your opponent with only a few limited domino tiles to work with. They will likely be forced to play a miss and allowing you to score again.

Lastly, block the board. Play a tile that will make all available ends the same. To do this, you have to take note of every problem your opponent has. See what numbers on the board made him draw tiles out of the boneyard. Predict what he is lacking. To effectively block your opponent is the key to success in these dominoes rules.
